yeah, should both possible, and is definitely a good idea that hopefully will happen at some point

@m4lu @[email protected] thank you!
@maegul @seanbala @fediversereport
federation actually happening in the client is a super fascinating framing, thanks! That makes sense to me.
@seanbala @fediversereport thansk!
I think there is a distinction between Bluesky the company and the people on Bluesky here. Bluesky the company is definitely interested in ATProto having multiple apps, but is limited that they also want to be the best microblogging app. I think these 2 goals conflict more with each other than they want to admit.
I doubt whether the majority of people on Bluesky is actually interested in having multiple apps on atproto
@kjv not directly, but somewhat. its Silicon valley corps understanding how to scale up new technology and capitalising on it now. While at the same time the culmination of EU having multiple years of homegrown products that they've ignored. Scaling down EU fedi presence during an inflection point when they're trying to present themselves as bigtech-fighters really takes the cake
If the fediverse does take off, and we get all these think pieces a few years down the line about why tech companies are US again and not in Europe, I'd point to these last few weeks as the inflection point.
@laurenshof.online lol this is a WhiteWind comment, so that apparently bridges as well?
@Timo_Micro im excited to watch tonight!
Hey, yes Im in, thanks! I'll give it a proper shot tomorrow and connect my Nostr as well, dont have much time today. But it works well enough that I can reply this from OpenVibe!
And sure, you can find me @laurens.01 on signal!
@andrew @laurenshof.online @mackuba to the rescue https://blue.mackuba.eu/labellers/
@liaizon lmao its so perfect
also so incredible annoying thing that is still so predominant on the fediverse. If you have an account with a healthy number of followers, there is absolutely no noticeable difference in moderation and replies that you get between m.s. and other instances. the whole idea is just so incredible misguided that fundamentally misunderstands how fedi works
@julian @fediversereport yeah very quiet week. April felt much busier than other months, May quieter
@mho Probably also needs cross-protocol support
Also with you that we havent really seen the next generation style of possibilities yet that fedi enables
@paul @jay.bsky.team yes they do, but only both the OP and the replier have opted into the bridge
#Fediverse has no daily active user data, but it does have monthly active user data (1.02m MAU according to fedidb)
#Bluesky has both MAU and DAU: 1.37m MAU and 291k DAU, for a ratio of 4.7
If we apply that ratio to fedi we get a 271k DAU for fedi.
Thoughts?
@rabble @matej_svancer interesting, thanks! Would have assumed that as they are both crypto affiliated networks they’d have more overlap, but seems like not
@bnewbold lmao
we should swap, masto gets jack you get biz, everyone will be unhappy
hmm interesting, thanks! I knew it was a btc vs eth thing, but dont really know the inner workings of these communities and to what extend they dislike each other. Is farcaster even a subject of conversation over at nostr? Or is it really completely separate worlds?
yo @rabble (or other ppl active on #nostr), just out of curiosity: hows the conversation on Nostr regarding Farcaster? Has there been talk of bridges between nostr and fc?
